This Practice is part of St Helens South Primary Care Network (PCN), who are providing early morning, evening and weekend appointments for our patients. These appointments are in addition to those provided by the practice and are generally used for routine, non-urgent care.
This Enhanced Access Service provides a range of pre-bookable appointment types covering normal GP & ANP appointments and routine nursing care such as annual reviews and smears, as well as more specialised appointments for physio, podiatry, mental health, pharmacists and social prescribers:
- Monday: 18:30 – 21:00 (GP & ANP Appointments)
- Tuesday: 07:00 – 11:00 (GP Appointments)
- Tuesday: 18:30 – 21:00 (GP, ANP & Social Prescribing Appointments)
- Wednesday: 18:30 – 21:00 (GP, ANP, Social Prescribing & Pharmacy Appointments)
- Thursday: 18:30 – 21:00 (GP, Podiatry, Practice Nurse Appointments)
- Friday: 18:30 – 21:00 (GP Appointments)
- Saturday: 09:00 – 17:00 (Various appointments which can change each week and may include specialist clinics, such as Coil fitting and removal)
Please note the Mon-Fri sessions are held remotely, via telephone, apart from the Practice Nurse and Podiatry Clinic which will be held at Rainhill Village Surgery.
The Face-to-Face appointments on Saturdays will be held at the following venues:
- Rainhill Village Surgery
529 Warrington Road, Rainhill, L35 4LP - The Spinney Medical Centre
Whittle Street, St Helens, Merseyside, WA10 3EB
To make an appointment, please contact the surgery, and you will be offered an Enhanced Access Service where appropriate.
When We Are Closed
When the surgery is closed, please phone the surgery number on 0151 290 4700. Your call will automatically be diverted.
You can then leave a message for the duty doctor. Please be prepared to give the patient’s full details and the problem.
Or call NHS 111
What is 111?
111 is a new telephone service brought to you by the NHS. It is the number you should call when you need advice or medical treatment quickly, and you cannot wait for an appointment to see your doctor.
Please see the NHS 111 leaflet for more information.
Walk-in Centres
You can also attend St Helens Walk in Centre/Minor Injuries in Bickerstaffe Street, St Helens (tel: 01744 627400) between the hours of:
- 07:00 – 22:00, Monday to Saturday
- 09:00 – 22:00, Sunday
Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
