Referral Managment System

In July 2016, St. Helens Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) introduced a Referral Management system. This means that referrals to hospitals will be sent to a specialist service who will manage the referral:

ensuring that the Practice is referring to the most appropriate service, or advising if there is an alternate treatment which should be considered

ensuring that any appropriate tests or investigations have been carried out

checking that all relevant information is included in the referral letter

arranging / booking appointments

The CCG has produced a YouTube video and a patient leaflet to explain about the Referral Management system, and answer some questions you may have. To access these resources, please visit the CCGs Referral Management page
